Types of Verbs
Infinitive is the basic form of the verb in any language. Serbian language has three forms of infinitive based on how the verb ends. Before we present you with the most frequent verbs and their conjugation, we need to make a distinction between two types of verbs:
- Regular verbs ending with -ti
- Irregular verbs ending with -ći, -sti
Regular verbs ending with -ti
With regular verbs, it’s very straightforward! Let’s say you have a verb: govoriti. All you need to do is erase the -ti ending and apply the following endings: –m, –š, /, –mo, –ste, –e/ju. Irregular verbs ending with -ći, -sti
Irregular verbs is where it might get tricky, we can not lie. There is no other way to remember them than by learning them by heart.
